20 OUT OF 36 TEACHERS ABSENT FROM SCHOOL IN URUAN
In what could best be described as incredible, only 16 out of 36 full time professional Teachers working at Comprehensive Secondary School, Idu Uruan were present in School during a spot-Check and compliance monitoring exercise by the Education monitoring team of the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s office.
Led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring – Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, the Team which arrived the school by 8.10am, noticed that Students were already sited for classes. While few classes were manned by Teachers, so many other classes were without Teachers, leaving the Students idle.
The SSA while personally addressing Students who were late, decried the poor attitude of Teachers to their responsibilities while also recommending sanctions for erring Teachers who were found guilting of lateness and absenteeism. Students who were late, were advised against social vices, even as they made pledges for a change in attitude.
