Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Excellent performance and Akwa Ibom APC’s Pharisaic judgement

Richard Peters,
Good Governance Advocate.

There are many things that are common among the Pharisees: They are very judgmental. Another thing is that they are fault-finders. They are also hypocritical. These are the same features consistent with the Akwa Ibom APC members. They are political pharisees.

Anytime they comment about any issue, you don’t need a prophet to tell you that these are pharisees talking. No wonder why Jesus cursed them-Woe unto you Scribes and Pharisees. He even exclaimed Hypocrites! Jesus mostly used the Pharisees in His sermons, condemning their attitudes. The Pharisees never appreciated any good thing done.

Imagine Jesus Christ healing a man who was blind from birth. Instead of the Pharisees to rejoice with the family, they questioned the legality of the healing on a Sabbath day. Jesus cast out demons from the possessed, they kicked against it. He fed the 5000, they got angry. Today, the APC in Akwa Ibom are like the Pharisees.

When Gov. Udom Emmanuel came on board in 2015, he presented a blueprint to industrialize the state. Poverty alleviation was part of the 5 points agenda. Job creation was also there. The people of Akwa Ibom were excited over such clear vision. He did his best with the support of his commissioners to ensure that these promises were kept.

In Gov. Emmanuel’s second term, he came up with the Completion Agenda. This was to consolidate what he did in his first term. He has successfully set the ball rolling. Massive developmental projects across all sectors are ongoing.

But sleep has left the eyes of APC members because of the superlative performance of Gov. Emmanuel.

Worse still, sense of reasoning and good judgement have equally left them and they now tag themselves as the Pharisees, condemning everything the governor is doing to change the face of Akwa Ibom state.

Gov. Emmanuel brought industries, they wailed. He built roads, they shouted. Ibom Air landed, they doubted and said it can never be. O APC, the Pharisees and hypocrites, what has bewitched thee?

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo came to the state and saw the massive developmental strides of Gov. Emmanuel and gave accolades, but they still condemned it. They look for fault where there is none. They call good evil. They wail when they should be rejoicing. Who has bewitched thee O APC, the political pharisees?

Despite all the paid attacks, blackmails and propaganda by Senator Godswill Akpabio and Nsima Ekere against the Governor, he is not bothered or distracted. He has never arrested anybody, but has continued to be committed to discharging his duties in accordance with the oath of office he took.

O APC, the Pharisees, hypocrites! How long will you continue to call white, black? How long will you continue to distract the people with your lies, blackmail and propaganda? For thou suffereth not the things that are good, but those things that are evil.

We refuse to be distracted. We love what Gov. Emmanuel is doing, and we will give him full support. To hell with the Pharisees who only see evil in good deeds.
