BILL FOR AGENCY TO MONITOR SERVICES OF PRIVATE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IN AKWA IBOM STATE PASSES 1ST READING

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Tuesday, 18th February, 2020, has received the Private Healthcare Management Agency Bill from the lead sponsor, Hon. (Dr.) Udeme Otong, Member Representing Abak State Constituency and Chairman, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Health, for further legislative actions.

 

The bill which was sponsored by Hon.(Dr) Udeme J. Otong, Abak State Constituency seeks to establish an Agency to properly manage and monitor the services of private healthcare providers in Akwa Ibom State to curb qauckery and unprofessionalism in the health sector.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, while commending the lawmaker for the timely bill, referred it to the House Committee on Rules, Business and Ethics for rescheduling.
